On December 23, Cardinal Leo visited St. Peter’s Parish to help serve a Christmas dinner to 175 people who might not otherwise have enjoyed a Christmas meal. The parish’s Winter Welcome Table received a $23,000.00 grant from ShareLife to help operate and meet the needs of many in the community. The meal is served every Monday evening during the winter. The parish also distributes clothing and toiletries.

Cardinal Leo spoke to those attending about God’s love for them and how important they and the volunteers are to the Church and community. Wishing them all a Merry Christmas, he spoke of God’s love for us as demonstrated through Christ’s incarnation and the call for all of us to share this love with others—especially those most in need in our community

Cardinal Leo helped out in the kitchen and with the distribution of food, while also spending time speaking individually with many who were in attendance.

This Christmas, let each one of us reflect the face of Jesus to all those we meet as we give thanks for our many blessings.
